Attention, People of the Internet

OK--maybe you guys can help me.  I'm trying to find a specific sound file and have no idea where to start looking.  I don't want to burn a million CDs or copy this for a thousand iPods.  I just want it for my computer start-up noise.

The sound/file/thingy:  I'm trying to find the music they use at the beginning of newsbriefs on the CBS radio network.  If you call my house, I will be happy to sing an approximation for you.  Typing it out, though, could be trickier.  It's basically, da-da-DA-DAdala...  If you've ever listened to talk radio in the afternoon, you've probably heard it before.  The newsbriefs always start with this and end with an authoritative, "This is the CBS. Radio. Network."  I want the chimey little song that starts them.  (Not the NBC chimes. CBS.)

I would love to find this as it's one of those sounds that instantly places me.  I hear it, and I'm suddenly 12 years old again, driving in the car with my dad.

The problem is that I have no idea where to look.  I've tried a few Google searches, but without luck.  Any advice would be much appreciated, and if you can actually find this sound, I'm sure I could bake something tasty in compensation.

The floor is open.

Hue and Cry Some More

So. Remember when last we spoke, about how the wedding colors had been mutually agreed upon?

Hahahahaha.

Hue and Cry

After much debate and changing-of-mind, wedding colors have been decided.  Yeah, the inspiration was Martha.  So shoot me.  Specifically, this photo from Martha Stewart Weddings.  (Click to enlarge.)

Weddingcolors

I liked the way the colors worked together, and the fact that it was autumnal without being overwhelmingly orange (the default color for fall-themed weddings).  Still to be determined: Whether we can actually find decorations or wedding party dresses that go with the color scheme.

My mother has been brought up to date.  Can you guess how it went?

Me:  We decided on the wedding colors this week.

Mom:  Really?  What did you pick?

Me:  Well, I found this picture I really liked, so I'm taking the colors from that.  We're using a palette instead of just two colors.  Basically, it's terra cotta, chocolate and mocha, with some sage and slate blue thrown in to perk things up.

(silence)

Mom:  Those are your wedding colors?  (Pause)  Whatever happened to pastel pink and baby blue?

I was within inches of saying that I'd already gotten an injunction barring those colors from the wedding, but I didn't.  I was good.

Sure thought about it, though.

January? Already?

So that was December? Some sparkles, some pretty paper, a lot of hacking coughs, and whoosh, gone?

Pretty much.

Originally, December was supposed to be the month of letting the cards sell themselves on the Web site while I went totally Martha on the house. I had a whole schedule that listed a month’s worth of Christmasy crafts and to-dos. I started out strong, shopping for Christmas CDs on Nov. 29, and then had to tell myself that perhaps they didn’t have any in stock because it was not actually December yet. I got cards printed up, started cruising the online stores, and spent a weekend making the doughs for the annual Christmas Baking Frenzy (scheduled for Dec. 10-12). That was on the 3rd.
